National Drug Take Back Day
Too often, unused prescription drugs find their way into the wrong hands. That's dangerous and often tragic. Join Fremont Police and the Fremont Elks Lodge in coordination with DEA (United States Drug Enforcement Administration) by keeping them safe, cleaning them out, and taking them back! Drop off any unused or expired prescription drugs on Saturday, April 22, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm for National Drug Take Back Day at the Fremont Elks Lodge, 38991 Farwell Dr. We’ll also take e-cigarettes and vaping devices with batteries removed. Please note needles and/or syringes will not be accepted.
Join us Wednesday, April 26, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm for Coffee with a Cop at Mission Coffee, located at 151 Washington Blvd. Stop by and chat with our officers and command staff about public safety or neighborhood concerns and get acquainted. The event offers an informal and friendly setting for community members to meet with members of the Fremont Police Department. This event is sponsored by Mission Coffee.
Did you know that 90% of the bugs we see in our gardens are actually good bugs? Encouraging beneficial insects is one of the best ways to effectively reduce the number of pests in your garden. Attend an upcoming organic gardening webinar on Thursday, April 13 at 5:00 pm and learn about the most important beneficials and how to attract them, as well as why the plants you have in your garden can have a big impact. Fun for the whole family! The webinar is part of a series of free monthly classes about organic gardening and non-toxic pest control, offered throughout the 2023 growing season by the Clean Water Program Alameda County, of which the City is a member agency, in association with Our Water Our World.
