 Take our GIS Survey
The City’s Geographic Information Systems Division (GIS) would like to hear how you make use of or visualize information and data. Your responses to the GIS survey posted on MyFremont will help us develop a 5-year Strategic Plan to guide and improve GIS services and products. To see an example of a current GIS product, we invite you to visit the City’s Open Data Hub, an online library and reference tool that provides easy access to maps, data, websites, story maps, and applications. The survey will be available through April 16.
Parts of Rix Neighborhood Park will be closed starting on Monday, April 3, 2023. The project is expected to be completed by August 2023. Areas of work include the demolition of the old basketball court, installation of two half-size basketball courts, modification of irrigation and turf, addition of new concrete sidewalk, and more. While the park is located in South Fremont, work itself will occur on the Seneca Park Loop side of this long linear park. We apologize for any inconveniences this causes. Your support and patience are greatly appreciated.
View our website for project updates. For further information, please contact Parks Planning & Design by email or call 510-494-4744.
On February 28, 2023, the Alameda County Board of Supervisors ended the County’s COVID-19 State of Emergency, allowing the Eviction Moratorium to end. There is a 60-day grace period in place in which landlords cannot evict tenants. The Eviction Moratorium will expire on April 29, 2023, at 11:59 pm; evictions will be allowed to proceed after that.
If you are at risk of eviction, the Family Resource Center (FRC) can provide information, referrals, and mediation regarding the eviction process and other services, depending on your situation. Please call the FRC at 510-574-2028.
The Age Well Centers at Lake Elizabeth and South Fremont are pleased to announce new hours of operation. Starting Monday, April 3, hours will be 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday through Friday. If you see “abandoned” kittens, please wait first. During kitten season in the spring and summer, it’s not unusual to discover kittens seemingly abandoned by the mother. Before intervening, wait. Mama Cat may be searching for food, sometimes for hours. She may also be in the process of moving the kittens from one location to another. You may need to leave the area completely and come back in four to six hours to check whether the kittens are healthy (dry, sleeping/quiet, appear fed, etc.). Feral mother cats will stay away if there is human presence. Healthy kittens can survive several hours without food as long as they are warm. Learn more on the Tri City Animal Shelter's website and consider being a kitten foster!
