City of Fremont Announces New Digital Community Engagement Tool, MyFremont
This platform gives community members the opportunity to provide feedback and receive updates on priority City projects, events, and initiatives
FREMONT, Calif. – Sept. 8, 2022 – The City of Fremont announced today the launch of its new digital engagement tool, MyFremont, which will serve as an online hub for community members to engage with one another and City staff, receive updates on ongoing community projects, and provide feedback on City initiatives via online community engagement tools to directly impact Fremont’s future planning.
Powered by EngagementHQ, a leading online community engagement platform with over 12,000 global practitioners, MyFremont will provide Fremont community members the opportunity to participate in key discussions, communicate directly with the City, and learn more about upcoming events, policies, projects, and initiatives through their phone, tablet, or computer.
“Fremont is pleased to roll out a new community engagement tool that will provide our City as well as community members with a safe online platform to communicate with our staff and provide feedback, build relationships, and foster community growth,” City Manager Karena Shackelford said. “We’re eager to receive community feedback on Citywide initiatives that will be instrumental in shaping and ultimately guiding our City forward as we make decisions to better Fremont.”
In addition to providing a space for community feedback, MyFremont will also host idea boards, interactive maps, and project timelines as a part of the City’s continued efforts to communicate ongoing project statuses and timelines with the community.
Currently, opportunities are available on MyFremont for community members to register on the platform to share their input on a proposed update to the existing animal ownership ordinance, which would allow Fremont residents the ability to have additional chickens, goats, and bees on residential properties.
The platform will soon house additional information and community feedback opportunities for other priority City initiatives, including the Fremont Police Department Annual Community Survey, Climate Action Plan Update, new GIS Strategic Plan, and Sabercat Trail Extension Project.
As subscribers to the previous community engagement tool were not automatically transferred over to the new system, residents, business owners, and community members are strongly encouraged to register and subscribe to MyFremont to receive updates on new City initiatives and opportunities to provide feedback.
