Upcoming June 15 City Council Meeting
City staff will present to the City Council on the following items at the regularly scheduled Council meeting on Tuesday, June 15 at 7:00 pm:
- Second Public Hearing and Adoption of the Fiscal Year 2021/22 Operating Budget And Appropriations Limit
- Second Public Hearing and Adoption of the Fiscal Year 2021/22 -2025/26 Capital Improvement Program (CIP) and Two-Year Capital Budget
- Public Hearing to Review the Annual Report on the Rent Review Ordinance and Adopt the Fiscal Year 2021/22 Annual Fee
The City Council agenda and how to attend the virtual meeting will be posted online in the Agenda Center at least 72 hours in advance of the meeting.

Proclamation: Elder Abuse Awareness Month, June 2021
Calling all artists! The City is seeking artist qualifications for the commission of an innovative and permanent public art installation for a new outdoor plaza, Warm Springs Plaza, in Fremont’s Warm Springs Innovation District. The artist will design, fabricate, and install the artwork. Interested artists can apply through the CaFÉ website. Deadline to apply is Monday, June 28.
Fremont Unified School District is once again offering its Summer Grab-and-Go Meal Service beginning Wednesday, June 16. Every Wednesday through August 4, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm, families will be able to pick up seven days of breakfast and lunch for their child at five school sites throughout the District. All residents, age 18 and younger, are eligible for these free meals throughout the summer.
The Fremont 4th of July Parade Board and community volunteers are once again coordinating a Porch Parade event! This group of dedicated volunteers has coordinated the Fremont 4th of July Parade for over 20 years. Fremont community members and businesses are invited to decorate their porches, front yards, or store fronts in a creative or patriotic way. This is a virtual opportunity to celebrate the 4th of July with fellow Fremont residents, family, and friends! The City is now preapproving plans for detached accessory dwelling units (ADUs) that are submitted by designers, architects, builders, and other qualified professionals. Design professionals can use their preapproved ADU plans throughout Fremont with expedited plan review timelines and lower permitting costs. Having their ADU plans preapproved by the City is a great way to ensure that their future clients can move through the permitting process quickly and smoothly.
Alameda County moves to the Yellow Tier in the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy. Effective June 9, activities and businesses permitted in the Yellow Tier per the State’s Blueprint for a Safer Economy may resume or expand their operations. Alameda County remains aligned with the State’s face masking mandate. Everyone should wear a mask in indoor public settings, even if fully vaccinated, until State masking guidance changes.
On June 15, the State will move Beyond the Blueprint and California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has updated the Beyond the Blueprint Framework for California’s reopening. Alameda County will hold two virtual Beyond the Blueprint public update meetings to provide the latest industry guidance and help employers understand changing COVID-19 guidance and Cal/OSHA standards so they can take the appropriate steps to ensure safe environments for staff and customers. The Community Update is the first of these public update meetings and will be held on Tuesday, June 15 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm. The second is the Employer Update, which will be held Monday, June 21 from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm.
