CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY
As part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project, crews will be working project wide within the railroad corridor to perform rail grinding operations. Rail grinding requires a large, specialized machine to drive along the new light rail tracks in both directions and grind the surface of the rails to their final shape. No street closures will be needed for this work, but this work is noisy and can cause vibrations. The noise and vibration levels will be monitored during these activities to ensure they stay below required levels.
WHEN
Beginning Monday, May 20th, ongoing intermittently thru Wednesday, June 5th (excluding holidays).
- Crews plan to work during the hours of 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM, Monday - Saturday. NOTE: Occasional longer work hours and construction on Sundays may be performed during the dates listed above.
TRAFFIC ADVISORIES
- No street closures will be needed to support these operations.
- Other closures may be in place for additional ongoing operations. Please safely follow all signage and any/all detour routes.
NOTE TO RESIDENTS / BUSINESS OWNERS
Noise from the rail grinder is expected. Noise and vibration will be monitored.
