1. Full Southbound Closure of San Dimas Ave. Between Bonita Ave. and Railroad Crossing in San Dimas (May 13 - 21)
2. Extended: Temporary Parking Lot Changes at Pomona North Metrolink Station in Pomona (Ongoing thru Aug. 31)

Full Southbound Closure of San Dimas Ave. Between Bonita Ave. and Railroad Crossing in San Dimas (May 13 - 21)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

As part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project, crews will be completing the median on San Dimas Ave. between Bonita Ave. and the railroad crossing. This includes lengthening the median north to Bonita Ave., and repaving and striping the roadway. This work requires daily southbound full directional closures of San Dimas Ave. for approximately nine days. Access to businesses within the closure area will be maintained via alternate routes.

WHEN

Daily, beginning Monday, May 13th thru Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 (9:00 AM - 3:00 PM).

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES

• Pedestrian traffic between Bonita Ave and the railroad crossing, thru the closure area, will be maintained.
• Access to the Frontier Village shopping center and parking lot on San Dimas Ave. within the closure area, will remain accessible.
  • To ENTER the Frontier Village parking lot (south of Bonita Ave.), please use Monte Vista Ave.
  • To EXIT the Frontier Village parking lot, both Monte Vista Ave.& San Dimas Ave. (exit closest to the tracks), will remain open.

PLAN YOUR ROUTE AND BE PREPARED

A detour route (see map below) will be in place during the closure and signage will be posted to direct motorists. Please follow detour signs.

• Southbound San Dimas Ave. will be fully closed to all vehicular traffic between Bonita Ave and the railroad crossing.
• Walnut Ave. (northbound and southbound) will serve as the main detour route, see details below.
• Bonita Ave. & Arrow Hwy (eastbound and westbound) will remain open to all traffic.

NOTE TO RESIDENTS / BUSINESS OWNERS

Noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones.

Extended: Temporary Parking Lot Changes at Pomona North Metrolink Station in Pomona (Ongoing thru Aug. 31)

CONSTRUCTION ACTIVITY

As part of the 9.1-mile Foothill Gold Line light rail project, crews are rebuilding the Pomona North Metrolink parking area. Crews will continue to demolish and rebuild the center section of the parking lot, which temporarily has eliminated vehicle thru traffic leaving two temporary parking areas (one on the east side of the closed section and one on the west side). The west side (which will only be accessible using Fulton Rd. during this work) includes approximately 64 parking spaces and 8 handicap spaces. The east side (which will only be accessible using Santa Fe St. during this work) includes approximately 51 parking spaces with NO handicap spaces. A temporary pedestrian walkway is available through the closed parking area. Vehicles are not allowed through the closed area.

WHEN

Ongoing and extended thru Saturday, August 31, 2024

• Work Hours: 7:00 AM - 8:00 PM, Monday thru Saturday. NOTE: Occasional longer work hours and construction on Sundays may be performed during the period.

WHERE

Construction activities will take place within the closed parking area shown below in red; in the center of the current Metrolink parking lot. Parking will remain available on both the east and west side of the work zone, accessible from Fulton Rd. and Santa Fe St.

TRAFFIC ADVISORIES

Riders using the parking area on the westside of the closure must enter using the northbound Fulton Rd. entrance (right-in, right-out access only). Riders using parking area on the eastside of the closure must use the Santa Fe St. driveway, accessible from southbound Garey Ave. or eastbound Arrow Hwy. to northbound Pine St.

NOTE TO PARKING LOT USERS

Typical noise from construction equipment will be produced near the active work zones, including the use of trucks and light plants. Large equipment and deliveries will be coming and going from the work zones regularly.
