The Construction Authority is pleased to announce that the railroad crossing at Wheeler Ave. in La Verne has reopened to vehicular traffic only. Crews will continue work to complete the sidewalks over the next few days to allow for pedestrian access. However, most of the significant work has already been completed at the crossing, including the installation of new tracks for light rail and freight trains (including a temporary freight track that will be replaced by a light rail track in the future), reconstruction of the roadways and medians, upgrading and relocation or protection of numerous underground utilities, and a host of other safety improvements.
Thank you to all those that have been impacted by the closure for your patience and understanding.
