 Community Workshop July 20
City Council received an update on the Parks, Recreation, and Open Space Master Plan (PROSMP) Initiative during the Council Study Session July 11. City Staff and consultant team from WRT provided an overview of the work completed to date and shared results of community engagement efforts over the past three months.
The city recognizes the essential function of parks, open space, and recreation programs and their impact on health, quality of life, community cohesion, and climate resilience. The goal of the PROSMP is to create a comprehensive plan surrounding Fairfield’s parks and recreational programming and park development. The plan will serve to guide how we improve, expand, repurpose, prioritize, maintain, staff, and fund our community’s park assets and recreational opportunities.
To gain a better understanding of community wants and needs, the city is inviting all residents to participate in the first community workshop on July 20, 2023, at 6 p.m. in Willow Hall (1000 Kentucky St). Light refreshments will be provided.
