The El Segundo Fire Department and El Segundo Police Department invite the community to join us for a 25th Anniversary 9/11 Remembrance Ceremony honoring the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 and remembering the courage and sacrifice of the first responders who served that day.

El Segundo Public Library's Reading Lounge
Join El Segundo's Historical Committee and Public Library for a special evening with our very own Danny Boehle and Dan Coonan, along with some of the World Series Champions, in celebration of their new book Second to None: A Coach's Message of Love and Selflessness Propels Tiny El Segundo to a Dramatic Little League World Title. They will discuss their experience writing the book along with stories and Q&A about coaching the El Segundo Little League All-Stars to becoming the 2023 Little League World Series Champions.

Bring a picnic, a blanket or low-back lawn chair, and enjoy a fun evening with friends and a classic 80's movie. Activities begin at 6:30 p.m., movie begins at sunset!
Recommended for older teens and adults. This film is not suitable for young children. No dogs, please.

Families and their children ages 0-5 are invited to join us for stories and STEAM activities. Children 8 & under must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.
No registration required. Supplies are limited.

The fall recreation activity guide is now available!
Register for classes and activities online at esrec.org, and experience the new recreation reservation platform. Users can register for programs, book facility rentals, and manage memberships. El Segundo | Vision 2050
 El Segundo | Vision 2050 is the City effort to update the General Plan Land Use Element, which identifies how land can be used. The update will help shape El Segundo's look, feel, and function over the next 25 years.
A Planning Commission Study Session is coming up, and staff hopes to receive valuable feedback from the community. This is a public meeting, and everyone is encouraged to attend.

The Planning Commission will hold a study session on El Segundo | Vision 2050 at its regularly scheduled meeting. During the study session, staff will present fiscal and mobility analysis, as well as preliminary rezoning concepts for public review, feedback and direction.

 The City of El Segundo is seeking public input through Sept. 14 to help identify accessibility concerns and inform the City’s ADA Self-Evaluation and Transition Plan.
During this period, the public may participate in both of the following ways:
- Complete the Public Survey
- Review And Comment On The Draft Plan
Public input will be considered before the Plan is finalized and may result in revisions to the Plan. More information»
 The South Bay Cities Council of Governments is studying opportunities to create mobility hubs in the South Bay. These are places that bring together transportation options, community amenities, and welcoming public spaces in one convenient location. Mobility hubs could include shade, seating landscaping, public art, gathering spaces, transit connections, bike parking, travel information, and safer walking and biking facilities. The goal is to create places that support everyday life and make travel options easier to use. Different places will need different features, but amenities that benefit all choices mean better access and stronger communities for everyone.

City Council Candidate Forums
Two city of El Segundo council seats will be up for election on Tuesday, Nov. 3 and two City Council candidate forums are planned for October:
- Oct. 5, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Hosted by the El Segundo Woman's Club
- Oct. 14, 6:30 - 8:30 p.m.
Hosted by the El Segundo Kiwanis Club
You can view the forums on Spectrum channel 3 and on El Segundo media’s YouTube channel.
On Oct. 5, vote-by-mail ballots will be mailed to all registered voters and the city’s vote-by-mail drop box on the corner of Main Street and Holly Avenue will open. The last day to register to vote at lavote.gov to receive a ballot is on Oct. 19.

El Segundo Firefighters Annual Pancake Breakfast
Sept. 12, 8 a.m. - 12 p.m. | Fire Station #1, 314 Main Street
El Segundo Firefighters will serve a delicious free pancake breakfast to the community to honor and assist our brothers and sisters in New York City who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
We appreciate the opportunity to remember this day with the community, so we will never forget.
Creative Economy: El Segundo & Beyond
Sept. 18, 8:30 - 10:30 a.m. | Mattel Global Headquarters
The El Segundo Chamber in partnership with Mattel presents a dynamic panel discussion that explores El Segundo and the region's impact on the creative economy. Tickets are $40.
Kiwanis Main Street Fair
Sept. 26, 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. | Main Street
The Main Street Fair is a 34-year-old annual tradition held every autumn in El Segundo. Eight city blocks are closed so fairgoers can enjoy 180+ artist and craft booths, street vendors, kids' games, a diverse food court, and the Main and Beer Garden stages hosting live, local musical performances.
The Main Street Fair is produced by the El Segundo Kiwanis Club as a fundraiser that benefits children’s needs throughout El Segundo and neighboring South Bay communities.
Tour Hyperion Water Reclamation Facility
In July, the Environmental Committee and Mayor Pro Tem Ryan Baldino took the opportunity to visit the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant. They learned about the innovative processes used to treat the 275 million gallons of wastewater that enters Hyperion on an average day.
