Los Angeles Sparks Reach Topping‑Out Milestone on $150M El Segundo Headquarters and Training Facility 

Ceremony Celebrates Historic Investment in Women’s Sports and Women‑Led Design, Construction, and Development Teams

EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — (Aug. 31, 2026) — The Los Angeles Sparks and the City of El Segundo celebrated a major milestone last week in the construction of the Sparks' future headquarters and training facility in El Segundo, marking the placement of the final steel beam atop the building’s structural frame. The topping‑out ceremony brought together Sparks players and leadership, City of El Segundo elected officials, and the women-led project team driving one of the most significant investments in women’s sports history.

Located at 2021 Rosecrans Ave., El Segundo, the Sparks’ new home represents a $150 million investment—the largest single-team investment in women’s sports at the time of its announcement. Construction began following the franchise’s September 2025 reveal of the project, which has since expanded from an originally-planned 55,000 square feet to approximately 64,000 square feet to accommodate enhanced performance, wellness, and operations spaces. The facility is scheduled to open in 2027.

More than 20 women across Clark Construction, Gensler, Canopy Team, Transwestern, Gardiner & Theobald, engineering and design partners, and the City of El Segundo are helping lead the project’s design, construction, and development. Their roles span architecture, engineering, construction management, environmental graphics, landscape architecture, interior design, and civic leadership—representing one of the most robust women-led project teams in professional sports development.

A First-of-Its-Kind Facility for Women’s Basketball

The Sparks’ new headquarters and training facility will feature:

• Two WNBA regulation basketball courts
• The WNBA’s first indoor–outdoor player sanctuary
• Outdoor spa pool for recovery and pre‑hab/rehab
• Dedicated nap rooms
• Hydrotherapy and spa suites
• Flexible wellness spaces for yoga, meditation, and quiet reflection
• Circular locker room designed to foster team unity
• State-of-the-art weight room and training spaces with extensive natural daylight
• Fully retractable doors connecting indoor and outdoor environments
• Business headquarters and office space for the Sparks organization

Gensler serves as the project architect and Clark Construction as the general contractor. Transwestern’s Sports & Entertainment Group advised on the land acquisition and, together with Canopy Team, serves as development manager and owner’s representative.
