June 6, 11 a.m. - 5 p.m. The Plunge, 219 W. Mariposa
Celebrate the reopening of the historic Urho Saari Swim Stadium! The day starts with free festivities including a ribbon cutting ceremony followed by self-guided tours. The afternoon continues with ticketed “First in the Pool” swim sessions that must be reserved prior to the event. Residents receive 1 free ticket with a valid Rec ID, with additional tickets available for $20 each. We can’t wait to welcome you back to The Plunge! More information here or call 310-524-2738.
June 11, 5:30 - 7 p.m. El Segundo Public Library
World-renown sculptor Eugene Daub will present a free program about his historical artworks, celebrating not only his illustrious career but also the 250th anniversary of US independence. A representative selection of the artist’s works are on loan in the library’s display cases.
Daub has created more than 40 major monuments of American icons including a statue of Rosa Parks for the National Statuary Hall in the United States Capitol. Daub's works are in the permanent collection of the Smithsonian Institution, as well as other museums and three state capitols.

Join us for a public screening of the FIFA World Cup 2026™ match between Brazil and Morocco! Bring your friends and family for an afternoon of soccer, activities, and community fun on the Checkout Grass! Sidewalk CPR
June 6, 11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. The Point, 850 S Pacific Coast Highway
In partnership with LA County Department of Health Services, the El Segundo Fire Department is hosting a free, hands-on event to teach as many people as possible the basics of hands-only CPR. No experience is necessary, just stop by and learn a lifesaving skill.
Emergency Alert Test
June 10, 1 p.m.
In preparation for FIFA World Cup 26, Alert SouthBay will conduct a Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) test. Mobile devices in the test area, which includes El Segundo, may make an alert sound, vibrate, display the message, and read the alert aloud, even if devices are on silent mode.

June 21, 4 p.m. Library Park
Bring an appetite and get ready to get your groove on! Our first summer concert will feature Upstream, Southern California's premier reggae, soca and Caribbean band. At 4 p.m., kids crafts, games, and giveaways will be available in the Gazebo and food trucks will start lining up. The concert starts at 4:30 p.m.

Level-up your green thumb and your cooking at this free planting workshop where you'll get herb starts and seeds that can happily grow in your kitchen window! Plant starts include parsley, oregano, basil and cilantro; seeds include dill and chives. Soil and growing containers will be provided.

Beginning May 23 Hilltop Pool
Hilltop Pool will be open weekends only through June 14 from 12 – 5 p.m. Starting June 15, the pool will be open daily through Aug. 31. Hilltop Pool is free for residents with a valid Rec ID. Non-resident admission is $7 for adults and $5 for youth. For more information, please call 310-524-2738.

The Nesta Steel Band trio will be the featured entertainment at the Farmer's Market, sponsored by the El Segundo Public Library. Nesta Steel Drum & Caribbean band is led by Abby Savell, a professional musician who specializes in steelpan. She will be joined by bassist Mark London Sims and drummer Ray McNamara. Families and their children ages 0 - 5 are invited to join for stories and S.T.E.A.M.-based play (science, technology, engineering, art, and math).
No registration required. Children 8 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver.

Fourth of July Celebration & Events
July 4, 10 a.m. - 9:30 p.m. Stevenson Field, Holly Avenue & Eucalyptus Drive
Independence Day will sparkle in El Segundo as the US turns 250 years old! Daytime events will feature food, contests and activities from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Evening events will be from 5 to 9 p.m. with live music from the AstroYachts, and the fireworks will begin at 9 p.m. Wristbands are available at the Clubhouse, Checkout Building, and Joslyn Center. June 2 Statewide Primary Election
The 2026 Statewide Primary Election is coming up on June 2, 2026!
All California active registered voters will receive a ballot. Ballots can be deposited at the drop box on the SE corner of Main and Holly streets, county elections office, or returned by mail.
June 2 is the last day to vote in-person or return a ballot by 8 p.m. Election day voting and early voting sites are listed below. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 2 and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on early voting days.

Congratulations to the El Segundo Police Department who had five incredible first responders recognized for stepping into harm's way to save lives at the Medal of Valor Awards.

The El Segundo Rotary Club’s Annual Community Service Awards Luncheon was held on May 28 and honored community members committed to serving and making a difference in the community.

- ESPD Civilian of the Year: Crime Scene Investigator John Hurtado
- ESFD Firefighter of the Year: Fire Paramedic Khalid Abdelshife
