 May 2, 10 a.m. - 3 p.m. Library Park
Step right up! Join us for the Annual Hometown Fair & Carnival spanning Library Park and the 600 Block of N. Main Street. The event will include music and entertainment from local talent, carnival rides, a community booth expo, craft vendors, a bake-off, and more!
El Segundo High School groups are coordinating game booths to fundraise for their clubs. A variety of vendors will be selling one-of-a-kind handmade crafts, while the El Segundo Police Department, Fire Department, and El Segundo nonprofit groups will participate in the event to provide information about their organizations and programs.
Wristbands are on pre-sale for $15 per wristband at the Checkout Building and Joslyn Center. The wristbands give access to rides and games offered throughout the fair and carnival. Be sure to buy your wristband early as prices will increase to $20 on the day of the event.

 May 9, 2-4 p.m. El Segundo Public Library
The Belle Air Brass will perform a free concert as part of the “Music in the Afternoon” series in the Sue Carter Community Room.
This award-winning all-women ensemble was founded, is directed, and is led by trumpeter Deb Wagner. The Belle Air Brass brings energy, humor, and heart to audiences. This special Library concert will be celebrating iconic music from films, reimagined with powerful brass fanfares, soaring melodies, and a signature sparkle.

This annual special event celebrating older adults and their contributions to the community will feature a complimentary luncheon and a recognition ceremony, including the presentation of the City’s Older American of the Year Award.

E-Bike Safety Course
May 16, 10 a.m. - 12 p.m.
The El Segundo Police Department is welcoming E-Bike Sense to once again give a short presentation on e-bike safety, followed by a skills course. The certified instructor will provide information on how to safely ride an e-bike, related laws, and recommended equipment. All you need to bring is your e-bike and a helmet!

Join your friends for fun activities! Activities may include stories, crafts, or games. For grades K-2. No registration required, and children 8 years old and younger must be accompanied by an adult caregiver. Supplies are limited.

All libraries participating in One Book, One Coast are reading and discussing They Called Us Enemy by George Takei. El Segundo's discussion is May 20 at 6:30 p.m. and the program will wrap up with a talk with George Takei on May 31 at 2 p.m. both in person at the East Los Angeles Library and online. Fire Station 1 Open House
May 16, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. Fire Station 1, 314 Main Street
Enjoy tours of the fire station, explore our fire engines and trucks, and meet the firefighters who serve our community. The event will also feature music, food, bounce houses, and kid-friendly activities, making it a fun and educational day for all ages.

Join us for a lively bilingual Spanish and English concert featuring Baila Baila! This program is suitable for children ages 0-5 and their adult caregiver. No registration required.

Families and their children ages 0 - 10 are invited to join us for stories and STEAM activities.

Camp LIT: Leadership In Training
 Camp L.I.T. is an opportunity for El Segundo teens to stay engaged this summer while learning leadership skills through working alongside Recreation staff in day camps, senior programs and other activities. Designed for those age 12 to 17, the program will be held weekly from June 22 - Aug. 7, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Registration is open now at esrec.org.
Budget Study Session
City Council will be holding a special meeting for a Budget Study Session on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 at 1 p.m.
The goal of this session is for all the departments within the City to present their budget plan for the 2025 - 2026 Fiscal Year and for City Council to provide direction as necessary. This event is open to the public and streaming live online at: youtube.com/@ElSegundoMedia.

June 2 Statewide Primary Election
The 2026 Statewide Primary Election is coming up on June 2, 2026!
All California active registered voters will receive a ballot. Ballots can be deposited at the drop box on the SE corner of Main and Holly streets, county elections office, or returned by mail. June 2 is the last day to vote in-person or return a ballot by 8 p.m. Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
