Important Notice to Residents - Short Term Rental

To all El Segundo residents,

With the FIFA World Cup arriving this summer, the Super Bowl in February 2027, and the Olympic Games in the summer of 2028, El Segundo is uniquely positioned to experience the energy and economic activity these global events bring.

While we welcome the enthusiasm of international fans and visitors, our priority remains the stability, safety, and unique character of our neighborhoods. To ensure our community remains a secure and peaceful place to live during these high-traffic periods, the City is issuing a reminder that short-term rentals of residential property are strictly prohibited within the City of El Segundo.

The City of El Segundo has established a Short-Term Home Share Program with strict criteria that includes securing required permits and business licenses. El Segundo Municipal Code § 4‑16‑9 (A‑E) defines what type of short-term rentals are permitted and establishes a registration process.

If you believe a short-term rental is operating in your neighborhood, please contact the Code Enforcement Division at 310-524-2346 or notify them via El Segundo Connect.

Thank you for helping keep El Segundo a safe and welcoming place to live.
