Ryan Allee Named El Segundo Fire Chief
Allee began his career as a Firefighter for the City in 2002, advancing through the ranks over the next 24 years
 EL SEGUNDO, Calif. — (Feb. 23, 2026) — City Manager Darrell George announced that Division Chief Ryan Allee will be promoted to El Segundo Fire Department Fire Chief this year.
"Chief Allee has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication to the community," City Manager George said. "His deep institutional knowledge, proven leadership, and longstanding commitment to El Segundo make him exceptionally well-suited to lead the department into the future."
Chief Allee began his career with the City of El Segundo on Jan. 11, 2002, as a Firefighter. He was promoted to Fire Paramedic in 2008, Fire Captain in 2017, Battalion Chief in 2022, and later to Division Chief. As Division Chief, he played a key part in overseeing department operations, training, emergency medical services, and emergency response and communications. In recognition of his outstanding service, he was named Firefighter of the Year in 2019.
"It is an honor to work alongside the men and women of the El Segundo Fire Department while making a positive impact on this community," Chief Allee explained. "I am excited to begin this new chapter and as always, I am committed to delivering the highest level of emergency services to the City of El Segundo."
Chief Allee also expressed heartfelt gratitude to his wife and three daughters, acknowledging, "their love and support made this achievement possible."
Chief Allee’s transition process is currently underway, with an official start date to be announced soon.
