HELP KEEP EL SEGUNDO SAFE | REGISTER YOUR SECURITY CAMERA TODAY
The El Segundo Police department invites you to partner with us in enhancing public safety by registering your exterior-facing security camera system.

By registering, you're letting us know that you're willing to share recorded footage only if requested to assist in a criminal investigation. Your participation helps officers quickly locate potential video evidence, saving valuable time and increasing the chances of identifying suspects and solving crimes faster.

How It Works
If a crime occurs near your registered camera, a representative from the El Segundo Police Department may contact you and ask to review the recorded footage relevant to the date and time of the incident.

Key Program Details:

  • No direct access: The El Segundo Police Department will not have live or remote access to your camera.
  • Voluntary and free: There is no cost to participate, and you may withdraw your registration at any time.
  • Used only for investigation: Your information will only be accessed by law enforcement personnel for official investigation purposes.

This program reflects our shared commitment to deter crime and promote safety through strong community partnerships. Join us in safeguarding El Segundo! Register Your Security Camera Today.

VEHICLE THEFT
In October, vehicle thefts increased compared to September. Thieves often look for easy targets, so it's important to take proactive steps to safeguard your vehicle. By adding multiple layers of protection, you make your vehicle less attractive to thieves and much harder to steal.

PACKAGE THEFT TIPS | DON'T LET THIEVES SNAG YOUR EARLY BLACK FRIDAY DEALS
The holiday shopping season is here! With "Early Black Friday" sales starting sooner than ever, it's important to plan ahead. Whether you're shopping online and having your items delivered to your home or in person and storing your purchases in your vehicle, follow these safety tips to help protect your holiday deals:

Home Deliveries

  • Monitor deliveries with a security camera or smart doorbell.
  • Provide delivery drivers with special drop-off instructions.
  • Use a secure package delivery box or a nearby Amazon Locker.
  • Track your packages and sign up for delivery alerts.
  • Require a signature for valuable items.
  • Insure high-value packages for extra protection.
  • Ask a trusted neighbor or Neighborhood Watch member to pick up your package from your doorstep if you won’t be home.

In-Person Shopping

  • Never leave valuables in plain sight in your vehicle.
  • If you must store items temporarily, place them out of view before reaching your destination.
  • Make high value purchases your final stop, and unload items as soon as you get home.

Stay alert, stay safe, and don't let porch pirates or opportunistic thieves steal your holiday cheer!
