Join Us for the El Segundo Firefighters Pancake Breakfast Saturday, September 6, from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Join us on Saturday, September 6 at Fire Station #1 for the annual El Segundo Firefighters Pancake Breakfast.
From 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., El Segundo firefighters will serve a delicious free pancake & bacon breakfast to the community to honor New York City firefighters who gave the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.
Donations are accepted, with all proceeds going to help local charities in El Segundo. This event would not be possible without the generous donations of food and supplies from our local businesses. Hope to see you there!

Vision 2050 Study Session
On September 25, the Planning Commission will hold a study session on El Segundo | Vision 2050 during its regularly scheduled meeting.
Staff will present existing conditions research and solicit the Planning Commission's input on the vision, goals and objectives for El Segundo | Vision 2050.

Tip-a-Cop Event!
Join the El Segundo Police Department and Special Olympics Southern California Athletes for a Tip-A-Cop Event!
Come out on Saturday, September 6, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Topgolf located at 400 Pacific Coast Highway in El Segundo.
During this fun-filled afternoon, El Segundo police personnel and Special Olympics athletes will take on the role of servers, collecting tips to benefit Special Olympics Southern California.
Your support helps provide year-round sports training and competition opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.

El Segundo Rock & Run 5K
The El Segundo Firefighters Association and Rock & Brews present the Rock & Run - a race inspired by axes and guitars!
The event takes place Saturday, September 27, and proceeds benefit local charities.
During the run there will be rolling street closures and streets will reopen as the race progresses. Please click here for a map of the street closures and event information. Rock on!

Free Community Poetry Workshops & Upcoming Book Discussion
Please join us for the upcoming FREE series of Community Poetry Workshops led by El Segundo Poet Laureate Kweku Abimbola, hosted by the El Segundo Public Library.
Participants are encouraged to bring a notebook, writing utensils, or laptop to participate in the writing activities. Writing experience is not necessary. Writers of all levels are encouraged to join. These workshops are designed for participants ages 18+. Registration is not required. Click here for information and details!

Wonderful Wednesdays & Fall Story Explorers
Main Street Fair – Saturday, September 20
The Main Street Fair is a 30-year-old annual outdoor celebration covering eight city blocks with 160+ artist & craft booths, street vendors, kid games, a food court, the Beer Garden, and live music played by local performers at the Beer Garden stage and Main Stage from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 20.
The El Segundo Kiwanis Club produces the Main Street Fair as a fundraiser benefiting children’s needs throughout El Segundo and the South Bay. Check out all the details on the Kiwanis website!

Registration is now open for classes and activities taking place September through December 2025. To register, visit esrec.org and click on the “Fall 2025” tab.

Save the Date: Creative Economy – El Segundo & Beyond
The El Segundo Chamber and Mattel present a dynamic panel discussion to explore El Segundo's impact on the creative economy. Featured speakers and panelists to be announced soon!
The breakfast will take place on Friday, September 19, from 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at Mattel Global Headquarters in El Segundo.

Hyperion Update
The most recent updates presented at the August 19, 2025 City Council meeting on the situation with the Hyperion Water Reclamation Plant, which is owned and operated by the City of Los Angeles can be watched here. New Three-Way Stop Sign
We have a new addition to our traffic safety measures! A three-way stop sign was installed at the intersection of Center Street and Oak Avenue, in front of Center Street Elementary School.
This stop sign comes after numerous requests from the community and a thorough evaluation. A big thank you to our Public Works Department for their dedication and hard work in improving our streets! With school back in session, let’s all be extra cautious around our schools!
