E-BIKE THEFT
E-bike thefts are on the rise and July showed an upward trend. Protect your investment with a few smart steps.

Prevention Tips:

  • Invest in quality security: Use a heavy-duty lock with an acoustic alarm.
  • Double up: Use two locks to slow thieves down and make your bike less appealing.
  • Anchor it: Attach your bike to a fixed, immovable object.
  • Secure components: Lock wheels, seat, and other removable parts.
  • Park smart: Choose busy, well-lit areas.
  • Track it: Install a GPS tracker with real-time tracking.
  • Garage safety: Keep your garage closed and locked when storing your bike inside.

Extra Steps:

  • Create a Bike Passport: Record the brand, model, frame size, color, serial number, photo of the bike, and purchase receipt.
  • Layer your security: Combine 2-3 measures. A single lock alone isn't enough.
  • Register your bike with ESPD.

GOT A WORK TRUCK? | PROTECT YOUR TOOLS, PROTECT YOUR LIVELIHOOD
Your work truck is more than transportation, it's your toolbox on wheels. And thieves know it! The truck bed is one of their favorite targets, making stolen tools a costly and frustrating setback for small business owners and contractors.

Here are a few reminders to help keep your tools safe & your business running:

  • Park smart: Choose well-lit locations with security cameras or if possible, park in your garage.
  • Fortify security: Install heavy-duty locks on doors, tailgates, and windows.
  • Lock it up: Remove tools at night whenever possible; otherwise, use a locking truck bed cover or heavy-duty toolbox.

TIP: If it has a lock-- use it!
