TOYS FOR TOTS | NOVEMBER 1ST - DECEMBER 5TH This holiday season the El Segundo Police Department is once again partnering with the United States Marine Corps to collect new, unwrapped toys through Thursday, December 5, 2024, and distribute the toys to less fortunate children at Christmas. The Marine Corps Toys for Tots Program was started by the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve to help bring the joy of Christmas and to send a message of hope through the gift of a new toy.

E-BIKE SAFETY COURSE | DECEMBER 14TH Are you ready to let your son or daughter ride an e-bike? Do they feel ready and knowledgeable of all E-Bike safety laws to ride on our roadways? The El Segundo Police Department has partnered with E-Bike Sense to offer a free E-Bike Safety Class that will help train kids to ride responsibly. Their certified instructor will give a short presentation on e-bike safety, followed by a skills course. All you need to bring is your e-bike and a helmet! Additional Requirements: Must be an El Segundo resident or student of El Segundo Unified School District, Da Vinci Schools or Vistamar High School | Must be 12 years or older | Must currently own an e-bike | All minors must be accompanied by a parent or guardian at least 18 years old. COMMUNITY POLICE ACADEMY | JANUARY 15, 2025 The El Segundo Police Department is now accepting applications for our January 2025 Community Police Academy. Classes start Wednesday, January 15, 2025! The course is intended for those interested in learning more about how the El Segundo Police Department functions and operates. The goal of the program is to open the line of communication between our officers and the community. Each class is taught by one of our subject matter experts and topics include K9, School Resource, Motors, SWAT, Dispatch, Investigations, DUI and more.
The FREE 10-week course is held on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 9:00 p.m. and dinner is provided. Space is limited! Register today, by filling out the application here.
