Douglas Street Railroad Crossing Closed to Traffic for Repairs

Repair Work Expected to be Completed in One Week

Please be advised that starting Tuesday October 3, 2023 at 7:00 a.m., Union Pacific Railroad will begin repair work on a developing sinkhole at the Union Pacific (UP) Railroad crossing and Douglas Street. The sinkhole, caused by a failed storm sewer line, will require a full street closure of the northbound and southbound travel lanes of Douglas Street at the railroad crossing.

Weather permitting, the repair work will take approximately one week to complete.

Temporary street signage and barricades will be set-up to detour through traffic to Aviation Boulevard around the full street closure. The northbound and southbound traffic lanes on Douglas Street will reopen as soon as the repairs are completed.

If you have questions, please call the City's main line at 310-524-2300.

As always, thank you for your cooperation.
