The El Segundo Fire Department is happy to announce the return of our FREE Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training Program.
CERT educates individuals about disaster preparedness for hazards that may impact their area and trains them in basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. Using training learned in the classroom and during exercises, CERT volunteers can assist others in their community following a disaster when professional responders are not immediately available to help. This year's academy is a hybrid course and is available to El Segundo Residents 18 years or older. Trainees must complete the 12-hour online course before attending in person on Saturday, April 1st, 2023 at Fire Station 2, 2261 E. Mariposa Avenue, El Segundo, CA 90245.
