Celebrate National Native American Heritage Month with Award-Winning Indigenous Recording Artists and Performers Shelley Morningsong and Fabian Fontenelle

Shelley1

Saturday, November 5th, 11:00 a.m. at
the Gazebo in Library Park

Honoring their native cultures and traditions of the Zuni/Omaha and Cheyenne, Shelley Morningsong and Fabian Fontenelle will captivate their audience through song, dance and storytelling. This free family-friendly event will start at 11:00 a.m. at the gazebo in Library Park on Saturday, November 5th; be sure to come early and grab your spot on the grass for this one-of-a-kind experience.

Returning to El Segundo where she once lived and raised her now adult children, Shelley Morningsong (North Cheyenne) was recognized as the 2019 Native American Music Awards Artist of the Year and has recorded seven Native American Contemporary albums, emerging as one of New Mexico's finest Native performers.

Fabian Fontenelle (Zuni/Omaha) brings his breathtaking traditional northern plains style dancing, storytelling and drumming, which honors his Omaha family and people. As a child, Fabian performed with his family dance group from Zuni Pueblo called the Zuni Rainbow dancers, originating from his grandparents in the early 1900s.

Shelley and Fabian live in the Village of Zuni Pueblo in Northwestern New Mexico where Fabian was born and raised. They hope to bring education, peace, love and unity to all through their music, stories and dance.
