EL SEGUNDO, Calif. – May 18, 2022 – The Los Angeles Chargers officially broke ground in El Segundo for the team's future headquarters and state-of-the-art training facility today, Wednesday, May 18, 2022.
El Segundo Mayor Pro Tem Chris Pimentel and City Councilmembers Carol Pirsztuk and Lance Giroux were in attendance, along with President of Continental Development Corporation Richard Lundquist, Los Angeles Chargers Owner & Chairman of the Board Dean Spanos, Los Angeles Chargers Head Coach Brandon Staley, Quarterback Justin Herbert, and Safety Derwin James.
The new training facility and future headquarters is a 14-acre site, just seven miles from SoFi Stadium, where the team plays its home games. It is expected to be completed in Spring 2024, before the NFL season.

El Segundo will be the only city in America with headquarters and practice facilities of professional football, basketball, and hockey teams."
El Segundo-based Continental Development Corp. and Mar Ventures, Inc. will build and lease the new team headquarters and training facility to the Los Angeles Chargers. The project includes a three-story main building, three full-sized practice fields, on-site parking, eSports gaming and content studios, and a media center.

About the Project Designed by Gensler Sports, the project – situated south of El Segundo Boulevard and just east of Pacific Coast Highway on Nash Street – is centrally located less than three miles from Los Angeles International Airport and seven miles from SoFi Stadium.
With an emphasis on player efficiency and movement between spaces that includes direct access to the fields from all player and coaching spaces as well as direct connection between team meeting rooms and exterior walk-through space, specific locations within the new team headquarters include a roof-top hospitality club, full eSports gaming, and content studios and a 3,100 square foot media center.
Outside the main building that spans nearly 145,000 square feet, three natural grass fields with an artificial turf perimeter can be taken in from 7,600 square feet of elevated outdoor terrace space. An additional 3,400 square foot elevated outdoor turf area and two-lane lap pool for player rehabilitation are among the various outdoor amenities set for construction.
With the field area designed to accommodate bleacher seating, 348 on-site parking spaces, and accommodations available for offsite parking, the Chargers will be able to host public training camp at the El Segundo complex once open.
The project is currently estimated for completion by Spring 2024.
