The Future of Outdoor Dining in El Segundo
The City of El Segundo met with residents, businesses, and property owners on April 7th at City Hall to discuss the future of outdoor dining in El Segundo. A second meeting with property owners from Richmond Street was held on April 27th. Feedback discussed at the community meetings was presented to City Council at its May 3rd meeting for further Council direction.
The use of Richmond Street for outdoor dining was extended until the end of the year and City Council did not set a date for the removal of the remaining temporary outdoor dining areas. City Council provided direction to City staff to amend the City's agreement with the consulting firm RRM to include the development of a long-term dining program as part of the Downtown Specific Plan update that is currently underway.
