Spring is in the air and there are many exciting events, and important meetings this month.
- A community meeting will take place on April 7th at 6 p.m. in the City Council Chamber to gather feedback about the future of outdoor dining in El Segundo.
- City Council will hold a special Strategic Planning Session on April 12th to shape the City's priorities over the next four years.
- The highly anticipated grand opening of Topgolf is right around the corner on April 15th.
- The annual Eggstravaganza egg hunt is on April 16th at Recreation Park.

Topgolf Grand Opening
Dust off your clubs and get ready to perfect your swing at the new state-of-the-art facility that will reinvigorate golf in the South Bay and beyond!
Topgolf opens in El Segundo located along Pacific Coast Highway in less than one month – but with a twist. SoCal’s newest entertainment destination is slated to officially open its doors on April 15, 2022, marking Topgolf's first and only venue next to a real golf course. In addition to a reimagined 10-hole executive golf course, visitors of all ages can expect to enjoy an immersive, full-sensory golfing experience with 102 bays with "Toptracer" ball-tracking technology over three floors, lively bars with massive screens and a restaurant with an extensive menu.

Make Your Voice Heard About the Future of Outdoor Dining
The City of El Segundo is extending the opportunity for residents, businesses and property owners to participate in the development of a potential future outdoor dining program for City Council consideration. Your feedback will help the City explore options to accommodate outdoor dining into dynamic, permanent spaces. To understand the issues that must be addressed by the City, please see the March 1, 2022, staff report available here (pg. 153) and join City staff for an in-person community meeting on April 7th at 6:00 p.m. in City Council Chamber located at 350 Main Street. If you are interested in attending or would like to provide written feedback, please email bvoss@elsegundo.org. Public feedback received through the community meeting will be presented to City Council at its May 3rd meeting for further Council direction. City staff and the Council are looking forward to fully exploring a permanent outdoor dining program and needs the community’s input to make the process successful.

South Bay Swing Gazebo Concert
Bring your picnic blanket or lounge chair and join library staff at the Library Gazebo for swing and big band music from the 20s, 30s, and 40s on Saturday, April 9th from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m.
South Bay Swing, featuring Bridget Stock and musicians Eric Eckstrand on keyboard and vocals, Jay Stock on clarinet, and Corey Gemme on trumpet, will delight your ears and bring a smile to your face. Welcome El Segundo Poet Laureate Hope Anita Smith
Please help us welcome Hope Anita Smith to El Segundo on Wednesday, April 6th, in the Library's Reading Lounge at 6:30 p.m. Join us in celebrating National Poetry Month and National Library Week! Hope, an award-winning published author of poetry books enjoyed by all ages, will read from her collection of poems at the El Segundo Public Library. Be Amazed by Bubblemania!
On Wednesday, April 6th, from 3:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m. in the Sue Carter Community Room at the library, children ages 5-12 are invited to an interactive bubble show about the science and fun of bubbles! Children will get a chance to learn about reflection, refractions, surface tension, and many other intriguing facts about soap bubble properties. An adult must accompany children under 8. Appetizing Words
A series of poetry-on-demand activations for National Poetry Month brings poets and their typewriters to diners on the first three Fridays in April from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. Two poets will set-up their writing stations to create poetry in the moment, inspired by viewers. On April 8th poets Nayeli Adorador-Knudsen and Bobby Gordon will create poems at the corner of Main and Pine; and on April 15th, Typewriters Anonymous featuring Phillip & Elisabeth Nails will create poetry on-site at the 200 block of Richmond Street and engage with diners. Egg Hunt & Underwater Water Eggstravaganzas
On Saturday, April 16th at Recreation Park the Egg Hunt Eggstravaganza and Camp Expo will take place from 9:30 a.m.– 11:00 a.m. There will be multiple egg hunts with toy and candy filled eggs and a “meet and greet” with the Easter bunny at 9:30 a.m. The first Egg Hunt will begin at 10:00 a.m. for the toddlers –4 year old age groups. The second Egg Hunt for children 5-12 years old will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Other festivities include a Summer Camp Expo with our fun, energetic camp counselors, and instructors. El Segundo residents with a valid Rec ID will be able to register for Summer Camps starting at 8 a.m. on April 16th. Registration will be available online and in-person.
Afterwards you can head on over and hop into the Underwater Eggstravaganza at the El Segundo Wiseburn Unified School District Aquatics Center from 1:30 p.m. - 3:30 p.m. There will be an egg hunt, recreation swim, crafts, raffles and more! Report an Issue Online
The City of El Segundo offers an online feature called "Report an Issue" on the City's website that gives residents a convenient way to submit service requests for reporting a variety of concerns such as a pothole, fallen tree, or an abandoned vehicle. All requests for service are routed to the appropriate City employee to address and close out the ticket once the issue has been resolved. "Report an Issue" can be accessed on the City homepage or by visiting: www.elsegundo.org/ReportanIssue. Watch a helpful how-to video here!
A report can be submitted anonymously or you can sign-up for an account which allows you to keep track of all your submissions and save time by auto-completing your contact information for your future reports. The online feature is for non-emergencies only, and in the event of an emergency, please call 911.

2022 Business and Residential Survey
The City has just wrapped up the feedback portion of the 2022 Business and Residential Survey! For those that completed this year’s survey we thank you, your input is greatly appreciated and will help the City identify opportunities for improvement. City staff is reviewing data and will present it City Council in May. Your feedback helps us develop a roadmap for addressing the issues that are most important to you.

Pickleball Tournament
SAVE THE DATE! The Community Services Department is pleased to announce the City of El Segundo’s first professional Pickleball Tournament hosted by the Association of Pickleball Professionals! The tournament will take place on Thursday, June 23rd- Sunday, June 26th and will be located right in our very own Recreation Park. More details coming soon!

55th Annual Mayor's Good Friday Breakfast
Presented by the El Segundo Rotary Club, join El Segundo Mayor Drew Boyles and featured speaker Kenneth Chancey, a survivor of homelessness and foster care. Chancey has dedicated his professional career to improving society through services to his community. The breakfast takes place on Friday, April 15th at 7:00 a.m. at the Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum. For more info and tickets, click here.

New Features for Online Utility Billing
The City of El Segundo is adding new online features to the water and wastewater utility billing experience. The new features will make it easier to receive, view and pay your bill online. The enhancements are scheduled to go live in early Summer, and current customers will need to enroll to take advantage of the new upgrades. Learn more about the enhancements and enrollment here.
