Welcome Sign Retires Next Week

New Sign in Development

Gateway sign

The welcome sign for the City of El Segundo located at Imperial Avenue and Main Street will be removed during the week of January 24th. The sign welcomed residents and visitors for more than 50 years. It was refreshed in 1992 for the City’s 75th anniversary.

On January 18th, City Council approved an agreement with landscape architecture firm Hirsch & Associates, Inc.to design a new gateway feature that will reflect the rich history and character of El Segundo while creating a vibrant and dynamic entry to the community.

All represented organizations on the sign have been notified and have the opportunity to pick up their logo at the City's Public Works yard after the sign has been removed.
