Virtual Special Planning Commission Meeting - September 30, 2021

The draft 2021-2029 Housing Element for the City of El Segundo is now available for public review and comment on the City's website. The public can submit comments or questions to City of El Segundo Principal Planner, Paul Samaras at psamaras@elsegundo.org.

The Housing Element sets goals, policies, and programs to meet El Segundo’s housing needs.

There is a virtual Special Planning Commission meeting this week to learn more and provide the opportunity to provide feedback.

Next Steps

The City of El Segundo will submit the Draft Housing Element to the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) by Oct. 15^th for review. The City anticipates receiving comments back from HCD in mid-December, after which the Housing Element will be finalized, and City staff will return to the Planning Commission and City Council in early 2022 for final review and approval.

The California state deadline to approve/adopt Housing Element is February 12, 2022.
