City Updating Recreational Amenities to Align with New Temporary Targeted Safer at Home Health Officer Restrictions
The City of El Segundo continues to cooperate with the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health in response to the alarming spread of COVID-19 cases and will make modifications to recreational amenities to adhere to the Temporary Targeted Safer at Home Health Officer Order effective Monday November 30, 2020 through December 20, 2020.
The following recreational services will be impacted from November 30 - December 20, 2020:
- Shared outdoor facilities remain open (parks, tennis courts, pickleball courts, and Skate Park) for individuals and/or members from the same household to use. Physical distancing and face coverings are required. No group gatherings.
- Playgrounds will be closed. This includes the playground locations below:
- Recreation Park Playground
- Recreation Park Tot Lot
- Hilltop Park Playground
- Candy Cane Park Playground
- Holly Valley Park Playground
- Sycamore Park Playground
- Kansas Park Playground
- Washington Park Playground
- Freedom Park Outdoor Fitness Equipment
- Swimming pool activities will be limited to outdoor lap swim only. Lap swimmers must swim one person per lane.
- Team sports are prohibited unless with members from the same household.
- All operations will be closed between 10:00 p.m.-5:00 a.m.
The new Public Health Order, aimed at curbing the alarming surge in COVID-19 cases, advises residents to stay at home as much as possible and to always wear a face covering when they are outside their household and around others.
