El Segundo,CA.(September 1, 2020) - The City of El Segundo is launching the "Be Kind to Your Mind" mental wellness campaign during September to bring the community resources to handle stress stemming from the uncertainties of COVID-19.
As part of the "Be Kind to Your Mind" mental wellness campaign, there will be a series of videos shared on social media, elsegundo.org and El Segundo Media Channel 3 covering a wide range of mental health topics on Tuesdays and Thursdays throughout the month. The videos aim to encourage the community to talk about mental health issues and reduce the stigma associated with needing help.
The first video is from El Segundo Police Chief Whalen with tips and resources to address mental health issues.
Look out for the following video topics on the City's social media sites this month:
- September 3 - Anxiety
- September 8 - Depression
- September 10 - Signs of Suicide
- September 15 - Domestic Violence and Emotional Abuse
- September 17 - Substance Abuse
- September 22 - Isolation
- September 24 - Financial Stress
