*As of July 10, 2020, the Los Angeles County Public Health updated the El Segundo confirmed case count to 72. Los Angeles County Department of Public Health began reporting cases of positive COVID-19 based on the zip code the patient listed in the medical records. This reporting started on March 22, 2020 and El Segundo has had 72 reported cases. 

**The Centers for Disease Control recommends a 14-day quarantine once a patient tests positive and then recommends a follow-up test to validate that the patient doesn’t have active virus.  It has been determined that a majority of cases resolve within the 14-day period, however some patients remain symptomatic beyond the 14-day period.

Outdoor Dining on Main Street

This week the City expanded outdoor dining options for restaurants on Main Street to help restaurants increase their dining capacity and align with the L.A. County Public Health Order. Staff continues to work with businesses throughout the City to meet outdoor dining requests.

L.A. County Cracks Down on Price Gouging

Anyone who believes they have been a victim of price gouging, or who has information regarding potential price gouging, should immediately file a complaint through the County’s Stop Price Gouging app at stoppricegouging.dcba.lacounty.gov or by calling (800) 593-8222.

Police parking Enforcement PSA

Street Sweeping Enforcement to Resume July 27th

The City of El Segundo will resume parking enforcement on Monday,  July 27th. El Segundo PD will begin to issue warnings for all parking violations, including street sweeping, starting Monday, July 13 to give the public two weeks to transition. Diversity

City Accepting Applications for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission

The City has received more than 20 applications for the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission. To apply online visit elsegundo.org. The deadline to apply is Friday, July 17, 2020 at 5:00 p.m. and interviews will take place in August.  

Additional details and information about this Commission will be available after the July 21st El Segundo City Council meeting

The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Commission will engage the community, evaluate current policies and offer its recommendations to the City Council. 

On Tuesday, June 16th the El Segundo City Council agreed to establish a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission to work with the community to gain a deeper understanding of the issues and determine how to move forward to bring positive change so everyone who lives, works and visits El Segundo feels welcome.
