L.A. County Beaches to Close for Fourth of July Weekend

Los Angeles County beaches and beach facilities will be closed to the public for the Fourth of July holiday weekend in an effort to prevent gatherings and crowds that may spread COVID-19.  Under the modified Health Officer order, all beaches, beach parking lots, beach bike paths, beach facilities and beach accessways will closed from 12:01 a.m. Friday, July 3 until 5:00 a.m. Monday, July 6.

Bars

As directed by California Govenor Gavin Newsom, Los Angeles County Department of Public Health ordered the closure of all bars, breweries, brew pubs, pubs, wineries and tasting rooms, unless they offer sit-down dine-in meals, in Los Angeles County, including El Segundo, until further notice. This includes closing bar areas in restaurants. The new health officer order is available here

The State-mandated closing comes as the Department of Public Health is reporting significant increases in COVID-19 hospitalizations and the testing positivity rate. There has been a sharp increase in new cases and hospitalizations.

To stop the spread of the virus, please continue to follow physical distancing and wear a clean cloth face covering that securely covers both your nose and mouth when around people outside of your household.
