El Segundo Back to Business

Dear Business Community:

Thank you to those who completed the Temporary Richmond Street Closure Survey. Your feedback is greatly appreciated and has guided our efforts to support businesses. The responses to the survey were overwhelmingly positive in favor of a temporary street closure to allow for additional capacity through outdoor dining in the downtown area.

The City is pleased to announce a pilot program that will allow outdoor dining on historic Richmond Street beginning on Wednesday, June 17.  Richmond Street will be partially closed beginning Monday, June 15, as depicted on this map, to allow restaurants to set up the outdoor dining area. This pilot program is expected to end on September 8.

Please note the Los Angeles County Public Health Order requires businesses to follow reopening protocols and guidelines to safely reopen.

If you're a restaurateur, here's what you need to know and do to support a safe, clean environment for your workers and customers:

If you have questions on the street closure, please email Public Works at publicworksdept@elsegundo.org.
