Thank you to everyone who attended the Georgetown & North County Community Design Standards Project Kickoff on June 17. Attendance was great and everyone’s input was informative.

Pilot Hill Cemetery Clean-up
save the graves

Join us on Saturday, July 18 in Pilot Hill for a work party.

We’ll be concentrating on a few different activities:

  • Headstone cleaning.
  • Weeding around headstones.
  • Stick/debris pickup throughout the cemetery.

We’ll start with a brief history of Pilot Hill Cemetery, followed by a demonstration of safe headstone cleaning techniques. We’ll then organize into work groups focused on one of the 3 activities above.

Supervisors will be on hand to show volunteers VA-approved, safe, headstone cleaning techniques. All supplies will be provided but if you can, please bring gloves. All ages are welcome. Water will also be provided. Advance registration required.

What: Pilot Hill Cemetery Cleanup
When: July 18, 9:30 - noon (gather at 9:20 for check-in)
Where: Pilot Hill Cemetery, 4781 Pedro Hill Road, Pilot Hill
Wear: sun hat, long pants and sturdy shoes.
