mosqito fire

A lot has been happening regarding the allocation of the Mosquito Fire Settlement Funds since the Board of Supervisors (BOS) was first made aware of the settlement amount on January 6, 2026. As such, my office has created a detailed list of events regarding the funds on our District IV webpage, which you can view here: www.eldoradocounty.ca.gov/County-Government/Board-of-Supervisors/Lori-Parlin-District-IV

Where we are now: I am working with the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) staff and commission to implement a robust EDCTC-funded planning process to create a comprehensive plan for fire resiliency and evacuation for Volcanoville residents, which will be implemented using the Mosquito Fire Settlement funds designated for the Mosquito Fire Footprint Area. This community is unfortunately evacuated often due to its vulnerability to fire, and I am proud to be leading this opportunity with the community.

I would like to thank county staff, community members, my fellow board members, the EDCTC staff and commissioners, and all involved for your support of bringing this opportunity to fruition for the residents in the Volcanoville area. Information regarding next steps and community engagement will be announced when available.
