PG&E is preparing to complete a series of important wildfire safety upgrades in and around the Rock Creek Road area northeast of Placerville. You may start to see PG&E activity February 2nd with the potential for road closures starting February 9th. This work will include moving powerlines underground and installing strong poles and covered powerlines above ground to improve safety and reliability. To raise awareness about this important safety work, PG&E will be hosting an answer center for the community. · PG&E Wildfire Safety Work & Road Impacts Answer Center During the event, PG&E representatives will be prepared to share details and answer questions about work plans and what community members can expect during this work. Updates about potential traffic impacts, including traffic controls and road closures that may start as early as mid-February will also be available. As part of the Board’s direction during the formation of the West Slope Ad Hoc Committee, this review will consider adjustments to parcel buffers (including smaller or no buffers for larger parcels), the inclusion of attached and detached guest houses, potential removal of the Hosted Home Rentals buffer on the West Slope, and a re-examination of occupancy levels. We want to understand what outcomes the public supports and what should be avoided to balance neighborhood character, housing, tourism, safety, and property rights.
