Caltrans Announcement: https://myemail.constantcontact.com/Traffic-Alert--Three-Week-Closure-Scheduled-for-State-Route-49.html?soid=1124967364952&aid=Ify9zgy_tyU Newsletter: https://conta.cc/4igBFCL Residents have started asking me if I will run for re-election next year in the June primary. Because El Dorado County’s charter has term limits, I cannot seek re-election next year. As I head into my 8th and final year in office, I have found this position be both challenging and rewarding, and I am truly grateful that I’ve had this opportunity to serve the public. Potential candidates interested in running for office should consult the El Dorado County Elections Department for official requirements, deadlines, and filing procedures. Back to TopOn October 21, 2025, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) appointed Supervisors Ferrero and Turnboo to be the board’s representatives on the Vacation Home Rental (VHR) Program Ad Hoc specific to the West Slope. My understanding is that the VHR Ad Hoc Committee will hold public meetings to gather input from residents as to what changes should be made to the VHR Ordinance. One of the topics that the VHR Ad Hoc will consider is the current 500’ buffer between VHRs. Would you like to see that increased or decreased? Any changes to the buffer would change the potential density of VHRs in your neighborhood. This is a heads up to chat with your neighbors and start thinking about this issue so that you are prepared to participate in the public meetings and/or submit feedback. We will share the public meeting information when it is announced. Lastly, please know that this is a separate but related issue to the Ag Lodging matter that the BOS directed staff to work on during the September 24, 2024 meeting.
