Remarkable Women of El Dorado County Tell Their Stories
Save the Graves returns to Placerville Union Cemetery on Saturday, October 18. This annual event features theatrical portrayals of prominent but often little-known luminaries in El Dorado County history. Scripted, historically accurate, 10–12-minute performances are repeated throughout the day in the county’s grandest Victorian Garden cemetery.
The theme for 2025 is “Women of Character”, featuring eight notable women who helped shape El Dorado County.

The academy is a 1-day introduction to starting a small commercial farm or ranch and will help prospective farmers start their operations. Participants will learn to assess their resources, research markets, analyze the potential economic viability of their operations and learn what makes foothill farming different. The class is taught by University of California farm advisors and with a panel discussion lead by local experienced farmers and ranchers. The day will end with a farm tour of a successful local farm.
