Street Vendors - Just Say No!
When you see a street vendor selling strawberries, oranges, or even tacos, think about this: We have many businesses in our county that have current business licenses, current Environmental Health approvals, staff salaries and benefits to pay as well as taxes - the street vendors do not have these things, do not pay taxes and their food prep methods are not screened for the safety of selling food to the public.
This gives them an unfair advantage to our local legitimate businesses that also sell strawberries, oranges, and even tacos. Let's think about supporting our legitimate businesses here in El Dorado County!
This is not just an El Dorado County issue, it is a state-wide problem in California. Here is an example: www.ksbw.com/article/central-coast-illegal-food-stands-merced-100k/64867213
