What is Biomass Utilization?
We are hearing a lot recently about the role of biomass utilization in forest management to prevent catastrophic wildfires. But what is it? These new tobacco retail ordinances go into effect December 1st and enforcement will begin April 5th, 2025.
"These ordinances demonstrate the County’s commitment to protecting the health and safety of our youth,” said El Dorado County Director of Public Health, Jennifer Byrne.

The boundaries of the Placerville NW FireWise Community have recently been expanded. The new boundary now extends west of Missouri Flat Road to the end of Echo Lane on the north side of El Dorado Road. This expansion includes nearly 300 additional homes, bringing them into the FireWise Community. As a result, these homeowners are now eligible to apply for reduced fire insurance rates through their insurance companies.

El Dorado County is now fine free! As of December 4th, 2024, we'll no longer charge fees for overdue items or DVD rentals. See the FAQ for more info here: eldoradolibrary.org/fine-free/
Fees for damaged or lost items will still apply, however there will no longer be a processing fee (some exceptions may apply).
Items DO need to be returned in a timely manner, or accounts will be blocked, including access to the digital library. Charges still apply for printing, Interlibrary Loans, collections referral, and exam proctoring.
