 Broadband

On November 5, 2024, the Board of Supervisors received a presentation from the County's broadband consultant, NEO Connect, which included an update on ongoing and future broadband expansion efforts. The presentation outlined the County’s broadband planning process, including past achievements, current activities, and the California Public Utilities Commission Federal Funding Account grant.

The Board took action to accept four (4) California Public Utilities Commission Federal Funding Account grants in a cumulative amount of $66,322,824 and approve the County taking ownership of the network as a condition of the awards, as follows:

A) Coloma Broadband Project - $4,692,838
B) Garden Valley Broadband Project - $25,227,011
C) Georgetown Broadband Project - $5,636,823
D) Indian Creek Broadband Project - $30,766,152

On November 5, 2024, the Board approved and authorized the Chair to sign a letter to California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) regarding mountain lion depredation permits in the County.
