NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the County of El Dorado, as lead agency, has prepared a Mitigated Negative Declaration (MND) for the below referenced Project. The Draft MND analyzes the potential environmental effects associated with the proposed Project in accordance with the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This Notice of Intent (NOI) is to provide responsible agencies and other interested parties with notice of the availability of the Draft MND and solicit comments and concerns regarding the environmental issues associated with the proposed Project.

The County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors is tentatively planning a discussion on Tuesday, January 9, 2024, at 1:15pm to approve a letter to the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA) addressing BIA Case 40317 and 40447, which incorporates the assessed impacts of the Federal Government accepting the specified parcels "in trust" by the United States of America on behalf of the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians (SSBMI), Shingle Springs Rancheria (Verona Tract).

Background
The County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors received Notices of Non-Gaming Land Acquisition Application on November 13, 2023. Per the Notices, “The determination whether to acquire this property ‘in trust’ will be made in the exercise of discretionary authority which is vested in the Secretary of the Interior, ...”

On December 5, 2023 the Board requested an extension on the comment period for the two Notices by an additional 30 days.
