The closure is scheduled for overnights starting Tuesday, October 24 at 8 p.m. until Friday, October 27 at 5 a.m. between the SR-49/SR-193 intersection in Cool to the North Fork American River bridge. The highway will be open between 5 a.m. – 8 p.m. each day.

CHRISTMAS TREE PERMITS AVAILABLE SOON- Visitors will have two opportunities to purchase a Christmas tree permit this season for the Eldorado National Forest. Starting October 28th at 7:00 AM, Christmas Tree Permits can be purchased online at: www.recreation.gov/tree-permits/eldorado. We will also have an in person permit sale on November 4th, at both Placerville and Amador district offices starting at 8:00 AM.

Permits are limited to one per household.

 I enjoyed touring El Dorado County Elections Department at their new location: 3883 Ponderosa Road, Shingle Springs. Registrar of Voters Bill O’Neill has done a great job of working with our Facilities Department to lay out the new space to be inviting to the public with a high level of transparency of the elections processes.
