Placerville, Calif, July 27, 2023 - Due to drier conditions increasing, seasonal fire restrictions will go into effect Friday, July 28, 2023 on the Eldorado National Forest under Forest Order 03-23-11. Under these restrictions, wood and charcoal fires are only allowed in metal fire rings and grills at designated developed recreation sites listed in the order.

Rescue Volunteer Fire Association (RVFA) is delighted to host National Night Out for the seventh time! Tuesday, August 1 from 5pm-9pm, 5221 Deer Valley Rd @ Green Valley Rd in Rescue, right behind Rescue Fire Station. They will have assets from the Sheriff's Office, Rescue Fire, Animal Control and other civic organizations at info booths. They will have a Slip-N-Slide (kids! bring your swim suits and a towel!), and will be selling meals of hot dogs, chips, watermelon and corn on the cob for $5, along with Root Beer Floats! They will also have LIVE MUSIC courtesy of the Whiskey Beggars!

Here is the Summer issue of the Foothill Fire Flash, El Dorado Co Fire Safe Council's quarterly newsletter. The focus this time is on Defensible Space, including upcoming defensible space inspection target areas by both the county and CAL FIRE. There is also a summary of EDCFSC programs to help residents get the work done, as well as info on a defensible space complaint process, etc. Feel free to forward to others in your community.
Food Bank El Dorado has partnered with Growlersburg VFW Post 9241 to bring a monthly Drive Thru food distribution to be held on the first Friday of the month from 1-4pm. The next one is Friday August 4th, Drive Thru behind the VFW on Maiden Lane, everyone is welcome.
