Supervisors Thomas and Parlin, in concert with Sheriff Leikauf, recommending the Board approve sending a letter to the California Department of Public Health requesting they deny the 2023 reauthorization of Sierra Harm Reduction Coalition’s services for a syringe exchange program in El Dorado County.

The County of El Dorado Board of Supervisors will hold a public hearing in the Supervisors Meeting Room, 330 Fair Lane, Placerville, CA 95667 on June 27, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., to consider the following: Planning and Building Department proposed amendments to Title 130 (Zoning Ordinance) of the County Code (Z23-0003) consisting of a County-initiated rezone of 11 identified multifamily or commercially-zoned parcels, or portions of parcels, adding a new Design Review – Community Combining Zone to the base zone of each affected parcel. The affected parcels are located in the Cool area.

One in five Californians, including many in El Dorado County do not have access to affordable, reliable broadband service, devices, and the skills to use them.

Over the next few months, the California Department of Technology will be leveraging a federal planning grant to develop a state Digital Equity Plan. When completed, the plan will deliver hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding to California and ensure our residents have affordable, high-speed internet access, as well as the skills and tools needed to participate in the digital economy.
