Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held at 9:30 am on Tuesday, December 6, 2022 by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors which will be held via Zoom and/or at the Board of Supervisors' Chambers, 330 Fair Lane, Building A, Placerville, California. The public hearing will consider the request by El Dorado Disposal Service to increase solid waste collection rates by $3.07 per month per home for customers with curbside Green Waste collection services, and increase the roll-off organics debris box overweight charge to $120.88 for Franchise Area A, as well as an increase to $20.88 per cubic yard of self-haul Organics for the Material Recovery Facility, to be effective January 1, 2023. To view the complete agenda item, including all data relied upon to calculate the proposed rate increases, please visit the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors' website eldorado.legistar.com and select the agenda for December 6, 2022, or contact the Environmental Management Department directly at (530) 621-7665.
This rate increase is a direct result of Senate Bill 1383 which was passed in 2016. CalRecycle is the State agency responsible for implementing SB 1383 and fines are proposed to be between $4,000 to $10,000 per day for those jurisdictions that do not comply with this unfunded State mandate.
