Mt Murphy Bridge Draft EIR
A public meeting will be held virtually for the Mt Murphy Road Bridge on 1/26/2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. to present the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR), answer questions and accept comments on the Draft EIR. Comments may also be submitted electronically to mtmurphybridge@edcgov.us by the 2/25/22 deadline. The Board of Supervisors is anticipated to consider certifying the Final EIR in March/April 2022 at a hearing that will be noticed to the public. Annual Dirt Road Closure Goes into Effect January 1 on the Eldorado National Forest
Forestwide Temporary Seasonal closure is in effect - All native surface (dirt, unpaved) roads and trails are seasonally closed from January 1 through March 31st. During these winter and spring months vehicle use on dirt roads and trails is prohibited. (does not apply to Rock Creek OHV area which has its own wet weather closure.) Bayne and Mt. Murphy Roads Follow-up
The Department of Transportation (DOT) is planning a meeting to follow up on concerns raised during the 10/20/21 Mt. Murphy Bridge Town Hall meeting about turnouts on Bayne Road. DOT anticipates coordinating this meeting with the Office of Emergency Services (OES) to include a follow-up conversation on the evacuation plan for the area. An estimated timeframe for the follow-up meeting is Spring 2022 and notification of the meeting will be published in this District IV newsletter and on Facebook.
