Thank You!
Chili bar thank you

Thank you to everyone who came to help clean up Chili Bar Park and to El Dorado Disposal for donating dumpsters. It was a big job with lots of branches, leaves, weeds and trash to be moved. Please take a minute to visit the District IV webpage to view the short slideshow of the work that was done:

 State Route 49 Confluence Update
 confluence

Based on concerns expressed from El Dorado County residents, El Dorado County Supervisor Lori Parlin has worked with the El Dorado County Transportation Commission (EDCTC) to initiate an effort to look into the safety and operational issues on SR 49 at and approaching the confluence of the Middle and North Forks of the American River. EDCTC will be meeting with Caltrans, the City of Auburn, Placer County, El Dorado County, State Parks and other partners in the coming weeks to finalize a scope of work to study and plan for potential solutions and funding strategies. Once the scope of work is refined and a consultant team is selected, a stakeholder advisory committee will be ratified and approved by the EDCTC. Public engagement and outreach will be a key component of this effort to improve safety and operation of SR 49 in this highly visited portion of El Dorado and Placer Counties.

Updates and outreach will be announced as available in this newsletter and the District 4 Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/SupervisorParlin

 Redrawing Electoral Boundary Lines:
Redistricting Meeting

Redistricting timeline 1

El Dorado County officials announced the launch of a new website to educate the public and solicit input about the process that occurs once every ten years following the Census count to redraw electoral boundaries more evenly.

The COVID-19 crisis put the normal timeline to provide public education and solicit responses nearly six months behind. Census information that would normally have been provided to Counties by March 31, 2021 won’t arrive until the end of September at the earliest due to COVID-19 complications. The Board of Supervisors must adopt final maps no later than December 15, 2021. That puts the public, and the Board of Supervisors, in a challenging position of getting significant amounts of work accomplished in just six weeks.

Public workshops about redistricting, the process, mapping tools and other information will start next month and continue through the rest of the year.

The first public meeting is scheduled for Friday, June 4, 2021 at 9AM via Zoom. Links to the meeting will be posted on the new website under the Public Meeting tab.
