PG&E Energy Saving Programs
California Alternate Rates for Energy (CARE) This program will give families up to a 35% discount on their energy/natural gas bill. Program eligibility is based on income OR the households participation in a qualifying assistance program. Income guidelines and qualifying programs are included in the attached document.
Family Electric Rate Assistance (FERA) For families that don't qualify for CARE, PG&E offers the FERA Program. FERA offers a monthly discount on their eclectic/natural gas bill for households of three or more. Income guidelines are included in the attached document.
HEAP is Here to Help! As many of you know, PG&E has issued a moratorium on PG&E shut off notices and many of our families that have been hit hard financially will be impacted when the moratorium lifts in April 2021. PG&E expects many families will have utility bills they are unable to afford, leading to mass utility shut offs. The EDC Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP) is here to help families sign up for both the CARE and FERA program, as well as educate them on other important energy savings programs available. If you have families that can benefit from CARE or FERA, please have them call the HEAP Program at 530-621-6150 for program details and enrollment eligibility.
