The El Dorado County Fire Protection District is inviting local residents to attend a meeting to discuss fire services in the Coloma-Lotus area. Chiefs, Firefighters and Directors will be on hand to present an open forum discussion on opportunities to partner with the community to address area funding, fire and EMS service delivery, staffing and other options for the community. We know that these issues matter to Coloma-Lotus residents and want to work together to identify real solutions. The Early Care & Education Planning Council is currently conducting two surveys regarding the impact of childcare on employment. Our goal is to reach both employers and employees in El Dorado County to understand our county’s unique employment needs and direct our council’s mission with planning and developing accessible, affordable, early care and education programs for our county’s families so that our parents and grandparents are able to return to and remain in the workforce.

for the In-Home Supportive Services Advisory Committee

EIGHT (8) VACANCIES EXIST ON THE IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES (IHSS) ADVISORY
COMMITTEE FOR (5) CONSUMER REPRESENTATIVES, (1) PROVIDER REPRESENTATIVE,
(1) COMMUNITY REPRESENTATIVE AND (1) COMMUNITY MEMBER.

The IHSS Advisory Committee, appointed by the El Dorado County Board of Supervisors, provides advice on In-Home Supportive Services to the Board of Supervisors and the Public Authority. Advisory members stay informed on issues affecting recipients and providers in the IHSS program.

The IHSS Advisory Committee’s mission is to ensure quality services for people in their homes, so that they can maintain independent living and to provide relevant community education. Meetings are in January, April, July, and October from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. All meetings are local and all efforts are made for transportation accessibility. The meetings can also be accessed by conference call.

Workshop on how to become a Firewise Community - 2/25/20

The Aukum Fairplay Fire Safe Council is putting on a Firewise USA Workshop for people wanting to learn more about how to become a Firewise community.  The presentation will be by Ken Pimlott and Janet Barentson of the Aukum-Fairplay FSC and will walk through the Firewise USA application, Risk Assessment and Action Plan.
