The 2025 Alliance Grants Program Solicitation Period is Currently Open

This is a reminder that DPR’s 2025 Alliance Grants solicitation period is now open!

The 2025 Alliance Grants Program is offering up to $1,900,000 in grants to support the state’s goal of transitioning to systemwide adoption of safer, more sustainable pest management, aligned with the Sustainable Pest Management Roadmap objectives.

The Department of Pesticide Regulation’s (DPR’s) Alliance Grants Program annually awards funding for projects that promote or increase the implementation, expansion, and/or adoption of effective, proven, and affordable integrated pest management (IPM) systems or practices that reduce human health and environmental risks in agricultural, urban, or wildland settings.

The 2025 Alliance Grants Programs is particularly seeking applications that address one or more of the following priority topic areas:

• IPM for underserved or disadvantaged communities;
• Decreasing the use of pesticides of high regulatory interest (such as fumigants like 1,3-dichloropropene or sulfuryl fluoride);
• Advancement of urban IPM and safer, more sustainable pest management tools and strategies in urban settings;
• Advancement of IPM and safer, more sustainable pest management tools and strategies in agricultural settings adjacent to or near a school(s);
• Meeting the IPM needs of small growers; and/or
• TWO or more of the three sustainability pillars noted below and referenced in the Sustainable Pest Management (SPM) Roadmap:
  • Human Health and Social Equity
  • Environmental Protections
  • Economic Vitality

Proposal applications will be accepted through Thursday, November 21, 2024, 11:59:59 PM Pacific Time (PT). Application information and materials can be found the Alliance Grants Program website.

Office hour appointments will take place via Zoom and will provide applicants with an opportunity to discuss non-competitively-ranked aspects of their proposal applications, including how to correctly complete the budget and budget justification.

Agenda: 30-minute appointments are available Tuesday and Wednesday from 9 – 11:30 AM PT for interested applicants to discuss non-competitively-ranked criteria in the proposal application.

Who We Are

The California Department of Pesticide Regulation protects human health and the environment by fostering safer and sustainable pest management practices and operating a robust regulatory system to monitor and manage the sale and use of pesticides across the state. DPR’s work includes registering all pesticides sold or used in California, conducting scientific evaluation of pesticides to assess and mitigate potential harm to human health or the environment, investing in innovative research to encourage the development and adoption of integrated pest management tools and practices, monitoring for pesticides in the air and water, conducting outreach to ensure pesticide workers, farmworkers and local communities have access to safety information, and enforcing pesticide regulations in coordination with 55 County Agricultural Commissioners and their 500 field inspectors.
