This month, DGS joins Governor Newsom and communities around the world in recognizing April as Autism Acceptance Month. We celebrate the many ways autistic individuals add to the strength and diversity of our state, while raising awareness of the challenges faced by those on the autism spectrum.

In California, one in 22 children have a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder. Our state's 21 regional centers provide developmental services and support for over 194,000 individuals. This month, we share our deep appreciation of individuals, families, and many others who are dedicated to uplifting the experiences of California's autistic individuals.

DGS is pleased to share with you our 2024 Year in Review, our annual publication that highlights the major accomplishments our department made throughout the year.

You’ll find a section for every office and division at DGS, with brief descriptions of the achievements we made during the 2024 calendar year. We not only rose above challenges – we also implemented many new products, services and processes that help our customers. You’ll also see the completion of many Strategic Plan goals.
